About me

Roger has been a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton since his appointment in December 2015 and has been Clinical Lead since 2019. He trained as an undergraduate in both Dentistry and Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' Medical and Dental Schools in London and completed both Basic Surgical Training and Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Training within the Wessex Deanery. He completed his training in November 2009 and was subsequently appointed a Consultant at King's College Hospital the following year. Here he developed his interest in trauma management and both undergraduate and post graduate teaching. Since returning to practise as a Consultant in Wessex, he has become Course Director for the UHS Advanced Trauma Life Support Programme 2019 and is Educational Supervisor to our UHS surgical trainees. Apart from trauma surgery, Roger's elective practice is in Orthognathic Surgery and Skin Cancer. He attends the Specialist Skin MDT and Combined Skin Clinic and works closely with Dermatology and Clinical Oncology. He sees patients with jaw growth problems with orthodontists at Winchester and Portsmouth Hospitals.
Away from work Roger tries to spend as much time outside in the New Forest with his family or on the cricket pitch.
