About me
Rob Leather was the 1st team physiotherapist at Leicestershire County Cricket Club since 2008 and Head Physiotherapist since 2011, providing the highest standards of physiotherapy care to the elite athletes involved at Leicestershire CCC on a day to day basis.
Rob Leather is now the clinical lead at Rob Leather Physiotherapy Ltd which is one of the most sought after private physio services within the east midlands.
Having qualified from Southampton University in 2002, with a BSc Honours in Physiotherapy, Rob has worked at Addenbrookes Hospital Sports Injuries Clinic, Cambridge Rugby Club, Loughborough Sport and prior to Leicestershire CCC for the international Rugby Board at the Rugby World Cup 2007.
Rob also successfully undertook an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Nottingham in 2006/07, allowing high levels of physiotherapy skills to be developed with experience gained in varied team and individual sports .
Since working within cricket Rob has also held a part time post working within the England Cricket medical team assisting with the development of the Elite Fast Bowlers within the England Cricket Performance Pathway.
Rob has extensive experience in the assessment and diagnosis of sports related injuries within elite and recreational athletes, creating specific rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes that are evidence based and at the forefront of current Science and Medicine practices.
Rob uses his extensive knowledge gained within the professional sports field to deliver a high quality of care within the Physiotherapy practice at Grace Road, ensuring the clients are offered exceptional management and treatment plans
Outside of work, Rob is a keen skiier, has the occasional agriculturally manufactured round of golf as well as occasionally managing a half marathon if there is time!
