About me
Nick Carter is a UK trained advanced laparoscopic & Robotic surgeon. He also spent 2 1/2 years working in South Africa. He has a specialist interest in Upper GastroIntestinal & Bariatric Surgery. He completed his Masters in Surgical Science at Imperial College London. He has also completed a Postgraduate Fellowship in Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery at University College Hospital London. Nick is the Principle Investigator for the ByBandSleeve Trial at Portsmouth and has co-authored the chapter on Extreme Obesity Surgery in the book Obesity, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. He sits on the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society Council. Nick specialises in diseases of the oesophagus & stomach including weight loss (Bariatric & Metabolic) surgery, antireflux (hiatus hernia) surgery including LINX device, biliary (gallstones) surgery, and abdominal wall & groin hernia surgery. He was one of the first UGI surgeons to be trained on using the Da Vinci Robot System and then became the first UK UGI surgery proctor travelling around the country teaching others surgeons how to use the Da Vinci Robot. He lives in Hampshire with his wife and 3 children. He is a bee keeper and also has a dog, chickens and guinea pigs to keep him busy.
