About me

My specialist expertise is in cancer management and assessment of suspected cancer symptoms. I also specialise in diagnostics and management of all general urology conditions, including erectile dysfunction and male and female urinary tract symptoms and infections.

I assess and definitively manage all aspects of prostate disease (benign and malignant).

My extensive surgical experience includes robotic surgery (for prostate and kidney cancer), laparoscopic surgery and traditional open surgery.

My primary clinical objectives are to ensure the most up-to-date and highest level of care for those I treat. Fundamental to this is taking the time to explain clinical assessment and recommendations in a way that is clearly understood.

My wider experience has included being Chairman of the Urology Clinical Advisory Group for the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucester region – working in partnership with hospitals throughout the region and supporting improving standards.

I am published and actively involved in training being part of the core faculty for nationally recognised courses (for the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Urological Surgeons).

Benign prostate disease (adult - transurethral resection of prostate, TURP, prostate enucleation); prostate cancer (adult - robotic surgery); haematuria / blood in urine (adult - cystoscopy, flexible cystoscopy, narrow-band imaging); urinary symptoms female/male (adult); kidney cancer (adult robotic, laparoscopic and open nephrectomy); bladder cancer (adult - transurethral resection of bladder tumours, TURBT); robotic and laparoscopic pyeloplasty (adult); urachal surgery (adult robotic, laparoscopic and open); peno-scrotal surgery (adult); vasectomy (adult, not including reversal).
