About me

Dr Dormand is a cardiologist with a specialist interest in cardiac imaging. Having qualified from the University of Cambridge she has undertaken training in cardiology in Edinburgh, Trent and the Northwest of England with additional specialist imaging training in cardiovascular MRI at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

She is now based in Glasgow supporting national cardiac and pulmonary services, having previously been based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, a large tertiary centre for emergency and routine cardiology care including for those with congenital heart disease or genetic conditions. She is a trainer in advanced cardiac imaging and a speaker at multiple conferences with an active role in healthcare governance.

She offers a comprehensive assessment for those concerned about possible cardiac symptoms or wishing a general cardiac health check. Echo by itself can be undertaken with an appropriate referral from a GP or other healthcare practitioner.

She has particular experience in the assessment and management of those concerned about chest pain and ischaemic heart disease, heart muscle disorders (cardiomyopathies) and valve disease. This extends to pre-operative assessment of cardiac health before surgery, screening for cardiac conditions using imaging technology, caring for those with heart complications from blood disorders and imaging for congenital heart disease.

Having undertaken specialist training in multimodality cardiovascular imaging (echo, MRI and CT) she uses non-invasive imaging in combination with other cardiac tests as needed to care for her patients.
