JENNIE PERSSON (CPsychol. BSc Hons, PgDip, MSc, PostMsc, PgDip CBT)

Jennie completed her 8-year, academic training primarily in the UK, at London Guildhall University (BSc) and City University (MSc, Post MSc) and parts in Stockholm University (Sweden). In 2009 she completed a specialised training in cognitive behavioral therapy at the Institute of Psychiatry, London (PgDipCBT), an approach in which she is also supervising other therapists.
She has been offering assessment and psychological therapy to adult clients since 2002, as part of her employments in the NHS and the private sector (including the Priory Hospital Roehampton, WeMind; a specialized CBT clinic in Stockholm, Sweden and through her private practice). Jennie is also experienced in clinical psychometrics and has worked as a senior clinician for Medavante a company specializing in central psychiatric and neuro cognitive assessment in clinical trials. She has carried out a number of assessments and offered psychological rehabilitation to clients in the area of psychological injury.

Jennie is skilled and experienced in the treatment and management of mood (depression) and the anxiety disorders including panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder. Though specializing in CBT, Jennie is also trained in other approaches and has experience of both person centered-, short term psycho dynamic- , and systemic family therapy as well as motivational interviewing (MI). She is an experienced group facilitator having developed and led various therapeutic groups, presently specializing in CBT group therapy for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She is experienced working with couples and have a great interest in developing in this area as well as mindfulness techniques within a CBT framework.

She also expertise in the field of clinical health and has worked as a co-facilitator on highly specialist diabetes groups. Jennie has experience of Acceptance of Commitment Therapy (ACT) and a great interest in motivational processes to facilitate change.

As a Chartered Psychologist she is registered with both the HPC (The Health Professional Council), BPS (The British Psychological Society) and is a fully Accredited member of BABCP (The British Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapists) and she is bound by those professional ethics
