About me

Qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1988 from the University of Leicester Professional Clinical Psychology Course. Sally Savage worked as a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for over 25 years where she was the Lead Professional for Psychological Therapies responsible for providing Psychology Services for the population of Northamptonshire. She has worked with adults and adolescents in Outpatient Psychology Services, in Primary Care (GP surgery) and Community Mental Health Teams.
Sally's extensive clinical experience is wide and varied. She moved into independent private practice full time in 2013. Here services are provided using an integartive approach based on Cognitive Behavioural and Schema focussed interventions (which is an active collaborative approach between client and therapist), but also using less directive, explorative approaches where appropriate or requested.
Help for issues associated with Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorders), depression, stress and anxiety, self esteem, personal relationships, health related issues, work issues and trauma (including PTSD and early childhood trauma), alcohol, drug and addiction – amongst others – are available.
Sally works with adult and adolescent individuals, couples, families and groups.
Sally continues to offer services within the local NHS in community mental health services for adults and adolescents, and also provides Critical Incident Support for staff following traumatic events. She provides staff support services for companies and other health providers.

Areas of interest

Providing imaginative, modern and creative solution-driven individualised psychological therapy for adults and adolescents. Intervetions include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), but will also utilise a wide range of therapies in which only Psychologists are trained. For Depression or low mood; Eating Disorders; Alcohol and drug problems; addictions; stress; anxiety, fears and phobias; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); reactions to traumatic events and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); childhood issues; low self esteem; sleep difficulties relationship problems; health anxiety; bereavement.
