About me

I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with 20 year experience in ophthalmology and to-date the only consultant ophthalmologist in the UK with dual fellowship training in children (paediatric) cornea, ocular surface, and cataract. I work for the NHS at the world famous Corneo Plastic Unit and Eye Bank at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, as well as my private practice in London, Surrey, and Sussex.

Previously, I have looked after children with corneal diseases and performed many conreal transplantations (grafts) in newborns and small babies. I treat adults as well as small children with complex ocular surface and corneal problems. Our patients are referred from various eye centres and hospitals around the country. Dealing with the most challenging eye conditions is part of my day to day work.

On top of my busy clinical practice, I keep investing my time in new innovations in ophthalmology, in particular cornea in adults and children. I am a reviewer to many reputable journals in ophthalmology. I have numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and wrote many book chapters in ophthalmology. I am a regular lecturer at international conferences and teach new techniques in corneal transplant surgery to international colleagues.
I am the founder of London Children's Eye Clinic:A group of highly experienced ophthalmologists in various aspects of children's eye care.

People praise me for my professionalism, experience, knowledge, and kindness. In my spare time, I enjoy doing charity work in the UK and abroad.
