About me
Dr Hunt in gastroenterology and liver disease, including liver transplantation, at St Bartholomew's Hospital Smithfield, Southampton General Hospital and St Mary's Hospital Paddington. I also trained in General (Internal) Medicine.
I was appointed to a joint consultant post between Kings College Hospital and Bromley Hospitals in 1993 and worked at both sites until 2019 when I retired from the NHS.
Whilst in post I developed the Gastroenterology service at the Bromley sites from scratch. I established ERCP to this group of hospitals I also performed weekly upper and lower diagnostic and interventional endoscopy lists (Therapeutic ERCP, Oesophogeal and duodenal stunting, PEG and PEJ insertion, polypectomy).
I have wide experience of intestinal disease including complex inflammatory bowel disease, Coeliac disease and malnutrition. I was a visiting gastroenterologist to the Eating Disorders units at The Bethlem and Hayes Grove Priory psychiatric hospitals, with 20 yrs experience in caring for patients with eating disorders
From 2010 I was increasingly involved in the diagnosis and care of patients with intestinal malignancy. I was the chairman of the South London Network Upper GI cancer working group 2010-2013 and a member of the London Cancer Alliance Upper GI cancer group.
Since retiring from the NHS I have continued to work in both the fields of luminal gastroenterology and hepatology
I live in Beckenham.
