About me

I trained as a doctor at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London. After 'house jobs' in Kettering, I worked in Reading and Weymouth doing A & E and Orthopaedics before working in Australia as a GP and, later, in New Zealand, doing Medicine and Paediatrics. I trained as a GP in Ealing, Reading and Basingstoke, before training in psychiatry in Basingstoke, Winchester, Gloucester and Bristol.

I worked for over 10 years as a consultant in a community mental health team in High Wycombe and then for nearly 7 years in a Community Acute Service and an Assertive Outreach Team.I then worked in an Immigration Removal Centre as a general and addictions psychiatrist and in various locations in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire for the NHS before my current job (which I have been in since January 2015) as a liaison psychiatrist based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

I have a masters in mental health law from Northumbria University. I am a medical member of the Mental Health Tribunal.

My private practice is virtual - UK-wide and I also see patients in Golders Green and near High Wycombe where I work with a group of other mental health professionals including psychiatric nurses, other psychiatrists and psychologists.

I have a wide range of interests, from psychosis, through resistant depression and anxiety disorders to adult ADHD. If you would like an appointment with me, please contact my practice and someone will guide you through the process. There is not usually any significant waiting list.

I am able to offer genetic testing to determine the best therapy to use and our practice also uses tDCS and rTMS.
