About me

I qualified (MBBS) from the prestigious Calcutta University in India. I subsequently completed MD (Doctor of Medicine) and DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Paediatrics from India. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). I completed my higher specialist training (CCT) in Paediatrics through the East of England Deanery in Cambridge.

I have been a Consultant Paediatrician at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford since 2010. Prior to this role, I worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Currently, I lead Paediatric Gastroenterology within my trust and also lead the Child Death Review in NHS Mid Essex. I was Clinical Director for Children's Services for six years. I have received multiple clinical excellence awards at my trust over the years.

I have extensive experience in General Paediatrics, Paediatric Gastroenterology, and Paediatric Allergy. My special interests include food allergies, feeding problems in neonates and infants, abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhoea, gastro-oesophageal reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Coeliac Disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I conduct skin prick tests (allergy tests) for various food and environmental allergens in my clinic.

I am a senior examiner for the Membership Examination of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and participate in various clinical examination diets nationally and internationally. Previously, I served as a Royal College tutor. Additionally, I am a member of the editorial board for Paediatric Care Online (PCO), an online healthcare tool provided by the RCPCH. I also sit on many interview and assessment panels as a representative of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).

I have presented at national and international conferences, received awards, and published works in peer-reviewed journals. One of my papers gained global attention after being released to the press by the RCPCH due to its significant relevance on both national and international levels.
