Mr?Jonathan Clamp is the Senior Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Derby Spinal Centre and Head of Service for Spinal Surgery. He is a highly experienced, fellowship?trained spinal surgeon with expertise across the full range of adult and paediatric spinal conditions.
Mr?Clamp's practice encompasses all aspects of spinal surgery, including the management of paediatric spinal pathology. He has specialist interests in degenerative spinal disease�the most common cause of back, leg, neck and arm pain�spinal trauma and metastatic spinal tumours. His practice includes the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques where appropriate.
His caseload includes complex adult spinal procedures such as anterior thoracic surgery, multilevel anterior lumbar surgery and intricate three?dimensional adult deformity correction. He regularly performs a wide range of advanced spinal injection therapies, including cervical and thoracic trans?foraminal epidurals and atlanto?axial joint injections. Mr?Clamp frequently receives complex tertiary referrals from other consultants across the region.
Known for his clear communication, calm decision?making and personable approach, Mr?Clamp is recognised for being approachable, empathetic and thoughtful in his care.
Mr?Clamp is a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the International AO Spine Society. He has published in peer?reviewed journals, contributed book chapters and authored operative techniques for spinal procedures. He is an experienced educator, lecturing widely on spinal topics and serving regularly as faculty on specialist courses, including instructional programmes for consultants.
