About me
I joined the specialist reproductive medicine consultant team at LCRM and Genesis in November 2010. I am a graduate of the University of Leeds (Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery 1993, Doctorate of Medicine 2001). My research focused on polycystic ovary syndrome - both its basic science and clinical therapy, including preliminary work on the use of metformin and its impact on weight control and ovulatory dysfunction.
I continued my post-graduate training in Yorkshire, with an overseas fellowship at Flinders University Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia, working with the late Professor John Kerrin. I successfully completed RCOG-accredited subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery, in Leeds (2009).
I am passionate about patient-centred care and strive to create a collaborative partnership in my management, whilst maintaining an evidence-based foundation through my expertise. Academically, I enjoy teaching and training doctors, embryologists, nurses and patients through local, regional, national and international programs, conferences and charitable events.
I work full time in reproductive medicine and general / emergency gynaecology for the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
