About me
Dr Umesh Udeshi qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff in 1979 and trained in Clinical Radiology on the Birmingham based, West Midlands Radiology Training Scheme.
Dr Udeshi has been a Consultant Clinical Radiologist since 1988 and now works exclusively in private practise. He has worked in the NHS for 33 years until recently.
Dr Udeshi's major specialty interests are musculoskeletal imaging and injections and urological imaging. He has been a core member of the Cancer Multidisciplinary Team for Urological Cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder), Haematological Cancers and the lead radiologist for the Bone and Joint Infection MDT.
Dr Udeshi offers a unique One Stop Musculoskeletal MRI Service (for the joints and spine). After initially discussing your symptoms with you, an MRI scan will be tailored to your needs and after the scan an immediate printed report and explanation of the findings, will be given to you by Dr Udeshi. Please request this service specifically if required.
Dr Udeshi carries out regular audit of his practise and participates fully in continuing professional development. He satisfies the Royal College of Radiologists CPD scheme and undergoes annual appraisal. As part of this, he collects regular feedback from samples of his patients and colleagues and this has been excellent. He has been satisfactorily revalidated by the General Medical Council.
He lectures to many professional groups on MRI and general radiological topics and publishes clinical papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr Udeshi has been a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Birmingham and a Visiting Lecturer for Birmingham City University. Dr Udeshi participates fully in continuing professional development and satisfies the Royal College of Radiologists CPD scheme. He has been satisfactorily revalidated by the General Medical Council.
He has been a member of the Royal College of Radiologists service review committee; a technical assessor for the Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme (now called QSI); professional reviewer for the Quality Review Service and West Midlands Quality Review Service as well as Cancer Peer Review Teams.
He is also the Medical Director at Cobalt Health, Cheltenham a health charity. His clinical practise is based at Cobalt Health's Imaging Centre.
