About me

Miss Gupta’s areas of expertise are laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and colorectal surgery. Her practice includes laparoscopic hernia repair surgery, gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) and laparoscopic bowel surgery. She has an interest in malignant and benign colorectal conditions including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease. She performs surgery for proctological conditions including open and stapled haemorrhoidectomy as well as out-patient treatments for haemorrhoids, surgery for anal fistulae, fissures and pilonidal disease. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Research interests

Miss Gupta was awarded her MD from the University of London for research into colorectal cancer. This followed a two year period of research at the Royal Free Hospital, London into the insulin-like growth factor system and how this has an effect on the development of colorectal cancer, as well as ways in which this effect may be attenuated. As a result of this work she has published papers and had presentations at many national and international meetings.
