About me
Farah has over 15 years clinical expereince of working both in the NHS and private sector, providing evidence based psychological treatment, interventions and guidance for adults throughout the life span, teenagers over 14years and couples. Being a Counselling Psychologist, qualified psychotherapist and an accredited CBT therapist, she tailors her approach to the individual clients needs. Mainly using Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), she also integrates other evidence-based approaches to work towards the client’s therapeutic goals. These may be short term goals, that lend themselves to briefer therapy, or longer-term goals leading to more in-depth exploration of longer standing issues. Therapy is seen as a collaborative process to help clients make the changes they desire.
Her clinical expereince include a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties from mild depression and anxiety, to complex trauma, with a special interest in OCD. She is able to offer specialised trauma treatment for PTSD in the form of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Alongside her clinical work, Farah is able to provide coaching and level A and B psychometric testing. She also enjoys disseminating her knowledge through professional supervision and has a special research interest in mindfulness.
