About me

I qualified as a counsellor in 2008 and I currently work in a variety of settings. I work with individuals, couples, children and young people.
I offer skilled, confidential counselling in safe, comfortable environments in areas of County Durham (Chester le Street and Newton Aycliffe).
I also work from rooms in Newcastle upon Tyne and Hebburn.

I work from a client centred perspective and incorporate CBT techniques into my approach. I like to draw on approaches which are best suited to the individual. My aim is to support the client whilst working towards greater personal understanding. I believe the relationship developed is the key to successful exploration and change.

I can also work creatively with individuals to enhance the therapeutic process.

I have a Level 5 Diploma in CBT and undergo continuing professional development training on a regular basis.

I commonly work with anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, work related issues and general stress. I also work with clients suffering from physical health issues, abuse, OCD, bereavement and eating disorders to name a few. I have a specialist interest in pregnancy related issues for both men and women.
