About us
Miranda is a psychotherapist, counsellor and couples counsellor. She has clinical accreditation with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and currently serves on their national Forum. She is also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and accredited by the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UTA).
Miranda works with adults individually and in couples across a broad range of issues and has been providing counselling and psychotherapy for over ten years. She has developed particular specialisms in working with both music students and professional performers on issues such as stage fright and how to face auditions, using techniques which can help anyone who finds giving presentations or job interviews particularly challenging.
In addition, prompted by personal experience, she has acquired the skills to counsel those who are suffering from long-term illness or chronic pain yet are still able to work. She has the approval of Professor Leslie Findley, consultant neurologist and founder of the National M.E. Centre, to work with M.E. patients who need to manage their energy and rebalance their lives in order to function within the limitations of the disease.
She has worked with clients from a variety of nationalities for whom English is not a first language. Coincidentally the majority of her clients over the last four years have been male; she is equally comfortable working with gay or heterosexual clients and has worked with gay couples on relationship issues as well as straight couples.
Prior to training as a therapist Miranda pursued a 30-year career in the music business. She holds two Masters degrees, one of which is in Existential Psychotherapy and has recently acquired the training necessary to offer online counselling, using Vsee, a secure medical consultation provider. Either of these means can be offered to those who travel frequently for work to maintain continuity of counselling.
