About me
I treat all aspects of general and paediatric ENT conditions but have a specialist interest in voice disorders of all types including management and treatment of the professional voice.
I have a wealth of experience diagnosing and treating all types of professional voice user from singers and actors of stage and screen through to anyone who uses their voice for their job, such as fitness instructors, teachers or doctors!
I understand the pressures that come with voice loss and have a team of world class experts who I work with to help you have the quickest and smoothest return to voice use possible.
I was appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist in 2012 at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich where I am lead of the renowned Lewisham Voice Service and ex-Clinical Director.
I am the President of the British Laryngological Association and current Editor of Gray's Anatomy for the Chapter on the Larynx.
I also have an interest in thyroid and salivary gland surgery that mirrors my work in the NHS at Lewisham Hospital.
I graduated in 1998 from Guy's Hospital, London and trained in Australia and the UK, completing my training in London. I was awarded a Medical Doctorate for advanced research into tongue cancers from University of Sussex in 2011, received the Gold Medal for best research paper at the 2011 ENT Masterclass, was awarded the Van Lawrence Prize for Research in 2017 and the David Howard Prize in 2018. I am an invited faculty member for numerous laryngology conferences.
I have published and presented extensively including book chapters and invited articles, and am an examiner for the European Board Exam in ENT.
