About me

Miss Umarji is Clinical Director for Surgery at St. George's Hospital, London. She qualified from Oxford University and has undertaken super Specialist fellowships in hand /wrist surgery. She publishes regularly , presents work nationally and internationally and was previously the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor .
As a sportswoman (former national representation for cricket and rugby) she understands the importance of getting patients back to sport . Many of Miss Umarji's patients are high demand tennis players , rowers and rugby players . She also has a research interest in Dupuytren's disease , arthritis in the hand , wrist trauma especially fractures .

Areas of interest

Miss Umarji has a special research interest in Dupuytren's Disease and in particular lower interventional treatments such as collagenase injections and needle fasciotomy. She is the Principle Investigator for a large national trial into treatment options for Dupuytren's disease.
She treats all hand/wrist conditions such scaphoid /wrist fractures (inc malunion/non-union), hand fractures, wrist arthroscopy, Dupuytren's Disease (inc Xiapex), nerve entrapments (carpal and cubital tunnel), trigger fingers, De Quervains, joint replacement, rheumatoid hand, ligament injuries and joint replacements for the hand , wrist and thumb.
