About me
Mr Simon Rogers (BSc, MBBS, FRCOphth) is a consultant ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with over 10 years’ experience in oculoplastics. Based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, he specialises in cosmetic and medical treatments for the eyelids and eyes. He is also a sought-after cataract surgeon, with visual outcomes that are consistently above the UK average.
I graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1999 and completed my higher specialist training in ophthalmology in Wessex in 2010. I went on to complete a prestigious Fellowship in Oculoplastics at the Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia. Since 2012, I’ve been working as a full-time consultant at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, performing both intraocular and oculoplastic surgery in this role.
I provide eyelid-related expertise to maxilofacial specialists, ear nose and throat (ENT) surgeons and dermatologists in their management and treatment of head and neck cancers. I regularly run teaching and training courses for ophthalmic trainees, juniors doctors and medical staff. I also have links to Myanmar (Burma) through an international charity programme; I’ve visited the country a number of times to provide oculoplastic and cataract surgery for an eye hospital in the Sagaing Hills near Mandalay.
