About me
I graduated in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1977 and completed my post graduate training at the Royal Post Graduate Medical School and King's College Hospital in London. My training also included two years research in Boston USA on pancreatic cancer and molecular pathogenesis.
Qualifications: MB, BCh, training in surgery in the South East Thames region and Hammersmith Hospital. In 1996 I gained my Certificate of Specialist Training.
Until 2015 I was a senior NHS consultant for the West Essex Health Authority joining The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex in 1996. I was instrumental in setting up and running the very successful Breast Unit at St Margaret's Hospital in Epping and during my tenure in the Epping Breast Unit several ground breaking innovations were set up. This included intraoperative sentinel node testing and intraoperative radiotherapy. I was and remain an active participant in multidisciplinary team work to ensure continuity of top quality breast care.
