About me
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and fully registered as a Practitioner Psychologist by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I specialise in Schema Therapy for adults. I work using an holistic approach, helping my clients as a whole, rather than merely treating particular symptoms, unless of course such specific focus is preferred or required.
My Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) is from Oxford University. My doctoral thesis explored the effectiveness of Schema Therapy for people suffering from Anorexia Nervosa. In doctoral training I undertook placements working with adults, children, older adults and people with learning disabilities. I chose to complete a specialist placement in an NHS adult eating disorders service.
Following qualification I have worked in a specialist NHS unit, offering individual, group and family therapy to young people as in-patients, day-patients and out-patients. My NHS role focused primarily on eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. Since qualifying from my doctorate I have trained fully in Schema Therapy and completed further training in CBT. I am an Advanced Accredited Schema Therapist. I have worked in private practice since 2012.
