About me

Mr Chye Yew Ng is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hand, wrist and peripheral nerve surgery. His clinical expertise includes the management of hand and wrist injuries and arthritis, keyhole (arthroscopic-assisted) treatment of scaphoid nonunion, the full spectrum of peripheral nerve injury and reconstruction, scapular winging, and brachial neuritis/Parsonage-Turner syndrome.

He graduated as the gold medallist from the University of Edinburgh in 2002 and completed his orthopaedic training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2011. He subsequently undertook two years of advanced subspecialty training: an Upper Limb Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital and the National Interface (Orthoplastic) Hand Fellowship in Manchester.

Mr Ng holds postgraduate certification in hand surgery from both the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and the European Board of Hand Surgery. He was awarded the Best Performance Prize in the European Hand Diploma Examination in 2013.

He is committed to lifelong learning to provide the highest standard of care to his patients. His dedication to professional development has led him to visit renowned centres across Europe, North America and Asia. His fellowship training and international observerships have been supported by prestigious awards including the Zimmer SCOT Travelling Fellowship, BOA Travelling Fellowship, FESSH Travelling Award and BSSH Stack Fellowship.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Ng has a strong academic and educational interest. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has presented widely at national and international meetings. He has previously served as Chair of the Training Interface Group in Hand Surgery.
