About me
Dr Sunil Gupta is a Consultant haematologist and haem-oncologist based at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust.
Dr Gupta has over 21 years of experience in clinical and laboratory Haematology. He trained with few of the best institutes in the World, namely; Kings College Hospital London, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney Australia, National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, India. He attained CCST from London Deanery at Kings College Hospital. He undertook clinical research in anthracycline toxicity in children suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Dr Gupta has been a consultant haematologist since 2011. His area of specialty is haematology-oncology, but has keen interest in clotting disorders and anaemias as well. He led the research and development (R and D) in haematology at East Sussex healthcare, and also at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust. He opened several new clinical trials in haem-oncology at both sites. He was tutor for SAS doctors at East Sussex healthcare. He has deep interest in teaching and training and has been awarded the title of “Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer” by Brighton and Sussex medical school.
Dr Gupta offers diagnostic and treatment services for various primary blood disorders i.e. Clotting disorders, Bleeding disorders and Anaemias. Dr Gupta also provides in- patient and outpatient chemotherapies for Multiple Myeloma, Lymphomas, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia and Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. He also offers day case and inpatient blood transfusion and iron infusion. He is currently providing consultations at all the major private hospitals in and around Bromley and Orpington. Dr Gupta is on the panel of all the major health insurance providers.
Dr Gupta is a member of the British Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, Medical Protection Society and the American Society of Haematology.
Dr Sunil Gupta has been attached with various charitable organizations in the UK and in India. He was presented the prestigious “The Glory of India” award for his various academic and social contributions.
Sunil is a keen sports enthusiast and fitness freak. He is an accredited Yoga teacher and holds weekly classes in Bromley. His wife, Dr Meenal Gupta is a well-known histo-pathologist, and they are blessed with two lovely daughters.
