About me
I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Optegra Eye Hospital Central London and Optegra Eye Hospital Surrey. I specialise in corneal transplantation, anterior segment and small incision cataract surgery, having completed a Corneal and Anterior Segment Fellowship during the course of my Higher Specialist Training. I am on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Ophthalmology and have received Certification in Laser Refractive Surgery by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (CertLRS).
I am skilled in a range of both laser and intraocular refractive surgery treatments and have a special interest in the treatment of presbyopia. I am skilled in performing LASIK, LASEK, PresbyMAX laser treatments and in the use of the most advanced Multifocal Intraocular lenses (trifocal and extended range of vision IOLs) for refractive surgery. In addition I am certified in the use of both the Staar Visian ICL and the Artisan Iris Clip lens in patients not suitable for laser refractive surgery. I am a member of the AMO Premium Registry involved in the evaluation of new intraocular lenses prior to market launch.
I am an experienced surgeon having performed more than 6000 cataract and laser refractive operations and routinely perform up to sixty refractive surgeries per week.
I have published numerous scientific articles and continue to regularly present papers at Cataract and
Refractive Surgery Conferences in the UK, Europe and America. I am also a manuscript reviewer for the British Medical Journal.
