About me

Dr Unitt graduated from medical school at Nottingham University, and underwent higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and Medicine in East Anglia, obtaining MRCP in 1998 and CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in 2006. Most of her postgraduate training took place at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, including several years on the Liver Unit where her research on the Liver Unit led to the award of a Doctorate in Medicine from Nottingham University in 2007. She has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust since January 2007 and was elected FRCP in 2012. Dr Unitt is the hepatology clinical lead in the trust and the lead for the gastroenterology postgraduate education. She supports clinical research and is currently involved in studies on fatty liver, primary biliary cholangitis and cirrhosis through the CLRN (Comprehensive Local Research Network).
Dr Unitt is able to offer a comprehensive Gastroenterology service including consultation and endoscopy at The Meriden Hospital. She is able to provide both a diagnostic and a therapeutic endoscopy service as well as expertise in general gastroenterology, Dr Unitt has a specific interest in liver disease, and the management of its complications. She performs liver fibroscan and undertakes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) of the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gall bladder and pancreas.
