About me

I started my profession career as a mental health nurse(RMN PT 13, D.H..ED) before I got a BSc (hons)in Community mental health nursing and Specialist Practitioner in Psychological Injuries. I went on to specialise in CBT receiving my Oxford Post Grad Diploma in 2005 and becoming accredited with BABCP. I have a varied professional background working abroad in Europe and the Middle East as well as England and Scotland before relocating back home to Ireland. I have been treating acute and Chronic Trauma stress and illnesses for 31 years, alongside all other Anxiety and Mood Disorders. I have experience treating all age groups from teenagers upwards and keep up to date with all advances in knowledge and practice in the field of psychotherapy.

Areas of interest

Low Mood, Mixed depression and Anxiety disorders; OCD, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Post traumatic stress Disorder; acute stress reaction following negative life experiences, relationship difficulties, Eating Disorders, Adjustment Reactions in teenagers to the elderly, stress and burnout.
I have a full range of therapy approaches which i use with a CBT narrative including Anger management individual or in groups; Acute, Chronic and Complex Trauma; building resilience; Chronic insomnia; Enhanced reliving and Narrative exposure Therapy;
