About me
I qualified as a counsellor in 2007 and am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. In 2016 I gained an accredited qualification in Counselling Supervision from the National Counselling Society. I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care since 2005 as a counsellor, supervisor and recently a trainer of new volunteers. I am experienced in working briefly (ie. 6-8 sessions) as well as much longer term work. I worked for 12 years as a university counsellor and have been a school counsellor since 2009, as well as running a private practice, where I work mainly with adults.
Areas of interest
I have experience in counselling people who bring a wide range of issues e.g. bereavement; abuse; depression; anxiety; relationships; body image; addiction or substance / alcohol misuse; sexuality; stress of all kinds; loss; major life changes and transitions. I regularly work with young people.
