About me

Mr Sujendran is an established Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital, Nuffield Hospital Cambridge and Spire Lea Cambridge Hospital. He specializes in minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery, endoscopy, Barrett’s oesophagus and hernia surgery. He performs around 100 laparoscopic (keyhole) hernia surgery and gallbladder surgery annually with a conversion rate well below 0.5% and his patients benefit from minimal pain, early recovery and early return to work.

Awards received

AUGIS travelling fellowship to visit professor Leuketich's unit at University of Pittsburgh Medical centre (UPMC), USA. Awarded one year fellowship in advanced oesophageal surgery and declined the offer to take substantive consultant post at Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge.

Associate lecturer University of Cambridge and lead tutor for teaching and training medical students in the UGI firm.

Publications

Published in peer review journals and awarded doctor of medicine (MD) for research in oesophageal cancer. I have over 30 publications and over the past 4 years have over 10 peer review publications.

Courses offered to GPs

Course Director and organiser of Cambridge Laparoscopic (keyhole) Hernia Masterclass course and Course Director of Cambridge Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient course and also direct the CCrISP course nationally.
