About me
Ms Bhavna Sharma is a very experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist; she has been working as a Consultant since 2007.
Currently she is working in University Hospital Lewisham, where she mainly does One stop Menstrual disorder clinic, Outpatient Hysteroscopy, Menopause clinics and all outpatient procedures.
She has vested interest in vulva/vaginal issues, hormonal issues like PCOS, PMDD/ PMS, Hirsutism etc.
She also runs Pre-pregnancy counselling clinic in her NHS practice.
She has been the Clinical lead for Complaints and Risk and Governance, RCOG Preceptor and supervisor. She also holds an honorary consultant contract at King's College Hospital and is an OSCE examiner of final year medical students at King's College. Ms Sharma has been the Royal College Representative for SHOT Committee (Serious Hazards of Transfusion), UK, she is also currently a MRCOG examiner.
Ms Sharma has had broad based extensive training with a few of the eminent doctors in the speciality and she has also worked at a senior level in tertiary hospitals in the country including Guys and St Thomas' Hospital.
She has obtained advanced specialist skills training in the ultrasound scanning in all aspects of women's health issues, Hysteroscopic operative procedures, and intermediate level Laparoscopic procedures and General Gynaecology.
She maintains Holistic, patient centred approach.
Her main interests are all menstrual problems including premenstrual tension/PMDD, polycystic ovarian disease and the associated problems, vulva-vaginal problems, vulvodynia and vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, psychosexual issues, early pregnancy complications, recurrent miscarriage, genital prolapse and menopausal problems.
Apart from English, she also is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
