About me
Annie Beresford has over 30 years experience as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and is also a Chartered Scientist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and adheres to their standards and codes of practice.
She specialises in adult mental health and wellbeing and is interested in the influence of nutrition, exercise and the quality of sleep on mental as well as physical wellbeing.
Annie favours a holistic approach when designing therapy programmes to meet the needs, hopes and aspirations of her patients. She has a special interest in eating disorders and obesity and has trained extensively at the National Centre for Eating Disorders.
She offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in line with NICE guidance, but is also interested in the 'third wave' therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness.
She is trained as a Personal Construct Psychology Psychotherapist so can draw from these many influences to adopt an integrative approach to her work when appropriate. She is also qualified in clinical hypnosis and employs this as an adjunct to therapy if people wish to draw on this approach.
