About me

Dr Nishchay Chandra is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. His specilaist interests include advanced endoscopy and pancreaticobiliary medicine.

Dr Chandra regularly performs a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures including OGD, colonoscopy, complex polypectomy, ERCP (endoscopy of the bile ducts), stent insertion and stricture dilatation. He is experienced in treating all aspects of gastrointestinal conditions and he specialises in managing patients with disorders of the pancreas and bile ducts.

After qualifying from the Royal Free and University College Medical School (London) in 2001, Dr Nishchay Chandra completed his initial postgraduate training at the Royal Berkshire and Battle Hospitals, gaining experience in a variety of medical specialities. From 2005 to 2010, he undertook specialist training in both Gastroenterology and General Medicine in the Oxford region. Following this, he was awarded the prestigious Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at the internationally-renowned Wolfson Unit for Endoscopy at St. Mark's Hospital, London. In 2011, he returned to the Royal Berkshire Hospital when he was appointed as Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician. Dr Chandra is the Lead for Endoscopy at the Royal Berkshire NHS FoundationTrust.
