About me
Mr Kia Rezajooi is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), where he served as the Clinical Lead of one of Europe’s largest Spinal Surgery Units. He specialises in spinal disorders and complex spinal surgery. Born and raised in London, Mr Rezajooi attended Westminster School, studied Medicine at Bristol University, and completed his post-graduate Surgical training at St Mary’s Hospital, London, and his Neurosurgical training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). In 2007, Mr Rezajooi was appointed to the prestigious NHNN and RNOH Complex Spinal Fellowship, for which he has been the co-director since his appointment as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at RNOH in 2008. Mr Rezajooi was awarded an MD (Res) degree from University College London in 2011, for his work on spinal cord injury repair. He was elected Head of Research for the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS) in April 2018 and served on the BASS National Executive Council from 2018 to 2021. Between 2017 and 2021, Mr Rezajooi served as Chair and Clinical Lead of the North and West London Regional Spinal Network, which he helped establish in 2017. He has served as a Specialist Advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for Interventional Procedures and as a reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Mr Rezajooi has published and lectured internationally on a wide range of spinal conditions including spinal cord injury, myelopathy, spinal tumours, neck and back pain. His outside interests include family skiing holidays, playing acoustic guitar for relaxation and trying to train his daughter’s overactive cockapoo. He also holds a Private Pilot Licence.
