About me

Ram Dhillon qualified from University College London Hospital Medical School, London in 1978. He was an ENT trainee in London and was appointed Consultant ENT to Northwick Park Hospital in 1989. He is registered with the General Medical Council in Otolaryngology
(GMC No: 244 1292)

He has trained in all aspects of ENT Head & Neck Surgery but now focuses his interests on snoring, voice disorders, rhinology and otology. His NHS Voice Clinic, which has been recipient of the Steinberg Prize, provides a secondary and tertiary referral service. His service is offered with dedicated ENT Speech Therapists as core members of the team.

Professor Dhillon also has a major interest in Snoring and Sleep disorders having initiated such a service for patients at Northwick Park in 1990. He offers, with Mr Michael Oko, his ENT consultant colleague, the full range of expertise from consultation, investigations, including non-surgical and surgical treatments.

His other interests are general ENT but particularly nasal allergy, endoscopic sinus surgery and middle ear disease.

He was one of six National Clinical Leads in the UK Department of Health Modernisation Agency looking at new ways of delivering NHS healthcare. He has been a member of several regional committees e.g. North West Thames Strategic Health Authority, GPs with Special Interests. Lectured and presented for numerous organisations e.g. Dept of Health collaborative in CHD & Emergency Care, for the National Association for Primary Care and Primary Care Trusts and Practice Based Commissioning groups

Ram Dhillon was awarded an Honorary Professorship at Middlesex University, London, in 2001, as recognition of his work in medical education, particularly in the development of GPs with Special Interests. Under his guidance the University and its collaborative partner, Rila Institute of health Sciences have, over a period of 12 years, trained over 800 doctors to successfully gain a postgraduate medical qualification. He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College Science, Technology and Medicine, London, since 2000.
