About me

I am a specialist knee surgeon covering soft tissue injuries, knee trauma, knee pain and arthritis. I have a special interest in sports related knee conditions including primary and revision ligament reconstructions. I also have an interest in the surgical management of the younger patient with arthritis using osteotomy, partial or total knee replacement.

In addition, I have several regional and national roles in surgical education and service delivery. I have held the position of Honorary Professor in the School of Health Sciences, University of Salford and I have been clinical lead for the restructuring of orthopaedic and trauma services across Greater Manchester.

I have been a council member, executive member and President of the British Orthopaedic Association.

I am an elected Trustee and Council member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh where I chair the Professional Standards Committee and take responsibility for delivery of overseas surgical examinations.
