About me
Mr Debashis Ghosh is Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon currently based at the The London Clinic & Harley Street clinic where he is the Divisional Director of surgery He was at Royal Free London hospital & UCL Medical School that is one of the leading Breast Units in the world. He provides exemplary service to his patients and their families. Mr Ghosh is empathetic, understanding and along with his team creates a caring support structure for the patient.
His areas of expertise lies in treatment of breast cancer, screening, family history, benign breast disease, oncoplastic breast conservation, risk reducing surgery, revision, reconstruction, symmetrisation surgery,chest wall perforator flaps and specialised surgery for lymphatic preservation.
His medical background demonstrates his commitment to his career. He is actively involved in breast surgery research including the pioneering use of a portable gamma camera for sentinel node biopsies. As a member of the Breast Team of the Royal Free and UCL Medical School, he is involved in trials in the use of intraoperative radiotherapy, radioactive iodine and seed localisation. He is currently working on the use of fluoroscence in cancer surgery. He has several publications and has written the chapter on Breast Surgery in Kirk’s Operative Surgery.
He was part of the NICE expert committee for Robotic assisted surgery
He is also the Principal Investigator for many groundbreaking multi centre trials.
Mr Ghosh underwent Higher Specialist Training in Breast & Oncoplastic Surgery at University Hospitals of Leicester, Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge & Peterborough. He then completed a one year post CCT Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital London. He has also trained in leading European centres as a Visiting Fellow. He has the distinctive achievement of holding a dual qualification from the European Board of Surgery in Breast & Surgical Oncology.He also holds Board certification for cosmetic surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons
