About me
I am a highly trained Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeon. I have been trained in the East Anglian region (Cambridge) and finished higher surgical training (CCT) in September 2010 working in various specialties of surgery. Since finishing my training, I have done fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and have been appointed in the NHS as a consultant since 2011. I have shown to be efficient, confident and safe dealing with both elective and emergency work.
I have performed more than 400 open and more than 600 laparoscopic colorectal resections. I have been JAG accredited and have performed more than 4000 colonoscopies with a completion rate of 98%. I have completed Training the Trainers course in colonoscopy and have been accredited by JAG as a trainer. At The Royal Marsden London, I have had invaluable experience of being involved in pelvic exenterations and re-do colonic resection surgery.
With regards to general surgical experience, I perform as a routine e.g. laparoscopic cholecystectomies, open & laparoscopic hernia repairs and pilonidal sinus surgery as part of my general surgical commitment.
During my previous consultant jobs at The Marsden, St Mark's & Hinchingbrooke, I followed the enhanced recovery programme, performed new procedures like TEO, HALO, RAFAELO and have been performing laparoscopic and open surgery for primary and advanced colorectal cancers, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and Pouch surgery.
