About me
My therapeutic approach is integrative/transpersonal, and treatment is assessed by the issue a person brings, and how many sessions we have. This means sometimes working to resolve past difficulties that may be affecting the present, and/or supporting difficult or painful current events in the clients' life.
My practice is a confidential and empathic space for clients to find support, negotiate difficult issues or life events, and gain insight into their situation and find a resolution. If I feel it would be supportive and effective, I work with visualisation, body awareness, and breath exercises. I am experienced with working with a variety of issues and symptoms, and for 18 years I have worked primarily with anxiety & depression, low-self esteem, body image, and grief.
I run drama and movement workshops for well-being. I have regular supervision and update my skills and knowledge base with professional development courses. I was a staff member of the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education ( C.C.P.E.), a clinical assessor, and group facilitator for 13 years
I trained in the transpersonal approach to counselling and psychotherapy because it incorporates the creative and spiritual approach to healing and wellbeing, and I believe creativity and a sense of meaning are important for whole health. I attend retreats and practice meditation.
