About me
Mr Vyomesh Bhatt qualified as a dentist from the internationally renowned College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India in 1992. Following this he undertook postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at King Georges Medical College in Lucknow, India. He did clinical research on the release and reconstruction of TMJ ankylosis in children while training as a resident and was awarded MDS(OMFS) from the University of Lucknow in 1997.
He went on to teach oral and maxillofacial surgery as Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Surgery in Mangalore, India, before moving to the UK to pursue further training.
After moving to the UK, Mr Bhatt completed his medical training at the University of Birmingham in 2004. He undertook basic surgical training in the West Midlands in trauma, orthopaedics, general surgery and intensive and critical care. He was then appointed to the West Midlands Higher Surgical Training Programme where he received training in the entire range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures. During this training, Vyomesh Bhatt spent two years at the University Hospital Birmingham, which houses the Royal College of Defence Medicine and is a pioneering centre for cranio-maxillofacial trauma, deformity and reconstructive surgery.
Vyomesh Bhatt was selected for the CranioMaxillofacial Trauma and Orthognathic Surgery Fellowship, sponsored by AOCMF Foundation. He undertook this fellowship in the highly reputed department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Albert Ludwigs University in Freiberg, Germany.
Mr Bhatt is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds the position of Honorary Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
He has presented at various national and international meetings and published widely in indexed journals. He is a very active Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life support and European Trauma Course Instructor. He also organises and teaches on maxillofacial courses in the UK and abroad.
Vyomesh Bhatt treats patients with any oral and maxillofacial surgical problem. His main areas of practice are jaw deformity correction (both birth and acquired deformities); problems with salivary glands; facial skin lesions; lumps and bumps of the head and neck including those inside the mouth; difficult teeth extractions including impacted wisdom teeth; procedures to improve oral rehabilitation using dentures and implants.
