About me

Phil Wright is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in surgery of the shoulder and elbow. His areas of interest are arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder surgery, shoulder joint replacement surgery and upper limb trauma.

Phil was appointed as a consultant at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in July 2011. He consults and operates privately at The Yorkshire Clinic and The Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital.

Phil graduated from Oxford University Medical School in 1998. He completed basic and higher surgical training in the West Yorkshire region. After completing his specialist orthopaedic training he undertook a twelve month upper limb fellowship post at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital.

Phil has presented research work at national and international meetings. He has published in peer reviewed medical journals. He trains junior doctors and orthopaedic surgeons in training. Phil is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, the British Trauma Society and the British Orthopaedic Association.

Phil enjoys the many and varied challenges that running a specialist shoulder and elbow practice involves. He firmly believes that the key to achieving the best possible outcomes is to ensure the patient is well informed and wholly involved in all treatment decisions.
