About me
Dr Alan Watson graduated with distinction from Cambridge University and trained in centres of excellence in London, Cambridge and Nottingham before taking up his current post as at Barts Health, Whipps Cross Hospital. He has since been nominated as a 'Barts Health Hero' for his expertise and compassionate approach to patients and colleagues.
Dr Watson is happy to discuss any gastro-intestinal condition and has particular expertise in the investigation and management of inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis & Crohn’s disease), acid reflux, intestinal polyps & tumours, dyspepsia (indigestion) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Endoscopy (gastroscopy & colonoscopy) forms a large part of Dr Watson’s practice. He has extensive experience in providing safe and thorough endoscopic examinations with minimal patient discomfort. His experience allows him to perform at an advanced level, using new techniques to treat problems with the endoscope that may previously have required an operation
