About me

Dr Ghazi graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, University of London in 1996. He completed his training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine on the Imperial rotation, London. He completed his postgraduate training as a Fellow in Pain Medicine at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. He also undertook fellowship training at Maastricht, Netherlands, where he passed by examination the American Board recognised Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP).

Dr Ghazi was appointed Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics to Whipps Cross University Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Health NHS Trust in 2011. He has been Clinical Lead for Pain Services since 2012 and works exclusively in Pain Medicine. He has chaired the advisory panel on community opioid prescribing in North East London. He actively leads in teaching at all levels, undergraduate anaesthetic lead and examiner in Medicine MBBS Finals for the University of London, anaesthetic and advanced pain trainees in the London Deanery and internationally through the World Institute of Pain. He works with the International association for the study of pain (IASP) for the Pain in developing countries group in Bangladesh.

Dr Ghazi has lectured nationally and internationally and has published widely in both journals and textbooks on Pain Medicine. His main interests are chronic headache and neck pain, abdominal and pelvic visceral pain, neuropathic pain, musculo-skeletal and back pain including whiplash injuries and cancer pain. His private practice is based at The Pain Unit, the Wellington Hospital.
