About me

Mr Alfhaily is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist specialising in urogynaecology, gynaecology ambulatory care and colposcopy. He has a keen interest in medical education, having completed the RCOG advanced training skills modules in medical education and urogynaecology. He recently completed a master's degree in medical law and ethics.

Clinical and surgical skills include the following:

Urogynaecology, including surgical and conservative management of prolapse and urinary incontinence such as vaginal surgery including vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair, abdominal fascial slings, colpocleisis, sacrocolpopexy and sacrospinous fixation; recurrent bladder infection; and voiding problems.
Management of overactive bladder, including Botox bladder injection.
Surgical management of urinary incontinence including abdominal facial slings and periurethral injectables – Bulkamid.

Ambulatory care for gynaecology, including diagnostic and operative hysteroscopic procedures such as diagnosis of endometrial cancer, removal of endometrial polyps and intracavity fibroids and removing intrauterine adhesions.

Common gynaecological conditions such as heavy periods or abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroid management, pelvic pain, benign ovarian masses, gynaecological sepsis, menopausal symptoms and other benign gynaecological conditions such as abdominal surgery, including abdominal hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy and vulval diseases such as atrophic changes, lichen planus and lichen sclerosus.

This includes NovaSure endometrial ablation under general or local anaesthetic to treat heavy periods and also incision-free ultrasound radiofrequency treatment for fibroids/Sonata.

Colposcopy, including diagnosis of cervical cancer or precancer and treatment of precancer cells.

He also completed menopause certification, and now he is a BMS-certified menopause specialist.
