About me
I am an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant in 2009. I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1998 and completed my higher specialist training in the North West I complete training with a fellowship at Tygerburg University Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa which as well as strengthening my surgical experience gave me a whole new perspective on healthcare. I strive to deliver an up to date and evidence based practice, present my patients with well informed options, and make treatment decisions together with you.
Having trained comprehensively in General ENT and Head and Neck surgery, through my consultant career I have directed my practice and continued learning towards problems with the Nose and Sinuses and Facial Plastic surgery. This involves dealing with the whole range of disorders ranging from the medical treatment of the nose and allergy sinus disease though to surgery including complex disease in the frontal sinus and nasal conditions associated with other conditions e.g Asthma. In regards to Rhinoplasty (AKA nose Jobs) , I perform these for functional and cosmetic reasons and perform over 50/year including revision surgery. I have a special interest in Septal Perforation Surgery, and have one of the largest reported series in the world for this with a 90% full closure rate and 95% symptom improvement .
I have am fully involved in clinic governance (safety issues) having been the lead in NHS and Private practice. I have served as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the BMI Highfield and still represent ENT. I am heavily involved in Medical education and have held roles such asTraining Programme Director For ENT Surgery in North West England, and Chair of the National Association of Training Programme Directors . I continue to publish and teach at a national level with a special interest in human factors training.
