About me

I am an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, and an EMDR Consultant clinician . I provide online and face to face therapy with equal competency. I have worked in the NHS IAPT since 2009 offering both CBT and EMDR therapy. My various qualifications, clinical expertise and experience with a diverse age range mean I can offer evidence-based psychological therapies to clients experiencing a range of complex mental health problems. I have a collaborative approach and have developed over the years a cultural competence that has stood me in good stead when working with the diversity of clients accessing primary care.I consider myself to be a highly experienced and reflective practitioner. I have continually evaluated my own effectiveness as a clinician based on my outcome measures, and feedback from my clients. I am governed by the ethical guidelines of the BABCP and UK/Ireland EMDR Association.
As a CBT therapist it is my role to help you understand what is causing psychological distress and help you to modify unhelpful behaviours and examine and change unhelpful thinking patterns you may be engaging in.
As an EMDR Consultant I help people overcome their traumatic experiences which they may have experienced as a child, during their adolescent years and as an adult.

I provide therapy which will offer support while at the same time teach you how to face and manage your difficulties.

It is important to identify what the problem is so we can intervene with the necessary mental and behavioural support that will help. The tools and methods you will utilise are designed to have both short and long term benefits to enable you to become your own therapist and have the necessary skills to have a rich and meaningful life beyond therapy.

I hold numerous accredited qualifications as well as vast experience based on my clinical work to draw from.

Whatever the cause of your current emotional distress and however this is manifesting in your life, the outcome is often incredibly positive when the right support and intervention is introduced. From assessment to treatment and aftercare, whether you are starting a recovery journey, or need help maintaining and developing skills. I can offer a safe space to do this.

Please note I do not work with under children under the age of 16.
