About me

I'm Dr Timothy Wood, a Consultant Anaesthetist based in Derby with more than 20 years' experience in anaesthesia and perioperative care. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2001 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2007.

I work for University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and also see private patients at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital.

My areas of interest include vascular surgery, general and colorectal surgery, orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cosmetic and plastic surgery, obstetric anaesthesia, and assessing patients before high-risk operations.

I understand that having surgery can be a worrying experience, so I always aim to put patients at ease by explaining things clearly and providing safe, personalised care. My role is to support patients throughout their surgical journey, helping to ensure they are comfortable, well informed, and cared for before, during and after their procedure
