I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at SpaMedica Bolton, SpaMedica Wokingham .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

Mr Andre Oberholster MBChb MMedOphth
Ophthalmic Surgeon
I am an experienced ophthalmic surgeon who has performed over 36,000 refractive procedures. I am registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a fully trained Ophthalmologist who has undergone additional specialist training in refractive surgery.
I have gained vast experience with special interests in cataract and refractive surgery and I am active member of various affiliated bodies and societies including the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa. Twice every year, I attend International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) Conferences and I am annually assessed by this board.
The panel consists of several of the world’s most eminent Refractive Surgeons including Mr. Steve Schallhorn, former Head of Ophthalmology for the US Navy.
I was born and educated in South Africa where I began my medical career at the University of Pretoria in 1979 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 1984. I spent two years at the Military Hospital of Pretoria in the Ophthalmology Department before progressing to work as a private general practitioner for six years. In 1992 I pursued my interest in Ophthalmology when I accepted a Registrar position at the University of Stellenbosch and obtained my Masters Degree in Ophthalmology (MMed Ophth) in 1997. The following six months were spent at the Bristol Eye Hospital after which I became a private practitioner in Ophthalmology at the Cape Eye Hospital.
I have made presentations in many different countries about laser surgery and regularly attends conferences about both laser vision correction and cataract surgery allowing myself to stay abreast of all developments in the advancing field of ophthalmology.
