About me

I am a Consultant in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at University Hospital of North Durham. I see patients with a wide range of symptoms, including indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, rectal bleeding and jaundice.

My standard practice includes investigation and treatment of peptic ulcers, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), liver diseases and cancers of the oesophagus, stomach and colon (bowel).

I am experienced in a number of endoscopic procedures, including Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Flexible sigmoidoscopy.

I lead the upper GI cancer services at University hospital of North Durham. I also lead IBD services in the hospital. I have a keen interest in nutritional issues and medical education. I am also the Education lead for Medicine at University Hospital of North Durham.
