About me

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Professor of Gastroenterology at London Bridge Hospital, King's College Hospital and King's College London, with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of digestive disorders, liver disease and neuroendocrine tumours.

I provide expert, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal pain, indigestion, heartburn and reflux, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, altered bowel habit and positive qFIT tests and abnormal LFTs.

I understand that digestive symptoms can significantly affect quality of life and are often a source of anxiety. My approach is based on listening carefully, explaining clearly and ensuring that every patient has a thorough understanding of their diagnosis, investigations and treatment options.

I am an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening colonoscopist and Deputy Director of the King's Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. I perform high-quality gastroscopy and colonoscopy, including advanced polypectomy and complex endoscopic procedures. Patient comfort, safety and achieving the highest diagnostic standards are central to my practice.

Alongside my general gastroenterology work, I am internationally recognised for my expertise in neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). I am Head of the King's Health Partners ENETS Centre of Excellence, one of the largest and most respected neuroendocrine tumour centres in Europe, caring for patients from across the UK and internationally. I serve on the Executive Committee of the European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society (ENETS) and am Treasurer of UKINETS. Furthermore, I am ESMO faculty member for the NETs and Endocrine tumour faculty group. Through these roles, I have helped shape the clinical management and education of neuroendocrine tumours both nationally and internationally.

My medical training was completed at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School, where I also obtained an intercalated BSc. I subsequently completed specialist training in gastroenterology and hepatology and was awarded an MD (Research) from University College London for pioneering research into gastrointestinal cancers and neuroendocrine tumours.

I remain actively involved in clinical research and medical education. I have authored and edited several textbooks and book chapters in gastroenterology, liver disease and neuroendocrine tumours and continue to lead an active academic research programme.

Whether you are seeking reassurance regarding new digestive symptoms, investigation of an ongoing gastrointestinal condition, bowel cancer screening, specialist endoscopy, or expert advice on a neuroendocrine tumour diagnosis, I aim to provide the highest standard of care in a professional, compassionate and supportive environment.
